Fire and Ice. Snow and Ash.

From the space between came the first Primordial. From their dreams came the first god, and from their tears, the first giants. From conflict and blood came the creation of Nyrverold, the realms, and its mortal inhabitants.

The current time, The Second Era, is the start of regrowth as the world recovers from a time of despair, monsters, and death. Tensions flare as society begins to flourish, and gods banished for cowardice scheme below, while gods exiled for their foolishness fan the flames.

Upon the eve of Year 431 of the Second Era, during Sun’s Fall, the Season of the Warrior, a group of strangers found themselves in the town of Keld.

In the northern controlled hold of The Hearth, an unlikely band of travelers made a connection.

A witch, a blacksmith, a haunted runaway, a demigod, and a resurrected warlock find themselves in the middle of a raid that forges the first link in their chain.

As ancient secrets stir beneath the snow, enemies, both old and new, begin to surface. What comes next will test the strength of these chains they forge, as the realms themselves will feel the impact of their decisions…

This is where their legend starts.

The World

Nyrverold begins in the town of Keld, part of the Northern hold known as The Hearth. Our party comes from all over the northern lands, from the desolate Shattershore all the way to the southern woods of Westwatch.

These holds are held in contention between two rival factions of gods, the Hernir to the north and the Spekir to the south. Once siblings with unbreakable bonds, they blame each other for a tragedy that caused their exile to the material realm.

Until they prove themselves worthy in the Eldin gods’ eyes, the Hernir and Spekir will remain, and the mortals of the realm will be caught between their feuds, forced to pick a side or be caught in the crossfire.

As ancient tombs are discovered, and even older secrets are revealed, our adventures will put to the test the strength of the bonds they share in this frigid land.

Brynja

Skipani (Shifter) | Novice | Barbarian

A free spirit and a natural hunter, Brynja grew up in the isolated Mooncatcher tribe on the island of Westwatch.

Early in her life, she showed signs of having "the sight." Where others saw her ability to communicate with the dead as a gift, she was terrified of it.

Following a tragedy that befell her family, after her brother was banished for thievery, Brynja fled her tribe, abandoning her duties. With her training never complete, she sees her sight as a curse.

But there is one thing she dreads more than the spirits of strangers: confronting the ghosts of her past.

Rys

Demigod | Novice | Barbarian

When you're the son of Atall, the god of battle, some things come naturally, like punching things really well.

Rys lived a reasonably simple life before his start as an adventurer, seeking ways to gain his father’s recognition. Headstrong and always knowing what to say to inspire, he would do anything for his friends.

Who's to say what secrets of blood and steel lie beneath his optimism?

Demigod | Novice | Cleric of the Forge

Born of necessity. Kragg, son of the god Sterkr, was forged as a tool to teach.

With a rising concern for the smithing skills of the world, the god of the forge sent his son out to mentor their faithful. After learning how to heal, our cleric became the savior of a small town following a bandit raid. He became something he didn't expect that day, not just a teacher but a hero.

But will his hammer and anvil be able to keep up with his newfound reputation?

Kragg Brutemaul

Reyna

Vandrkyn (Tiefling) | Novice | Warlock

Evil, untrustworthy, outcast. These are some of the things you hear when you are born of Flarkir blood.

Reyna was abandoned as a child, finding an adopted life with a nomadic clan that called the Shattershore their home. After spending a lifetime building her skills and people to trust, she found herself betrayed.

In that moment, she found something she didn't expect, another chance at life, and another chance to carry out her vengeance on those that wronged her. With the backing of a celestial patron, who's to question her judgement?

Morgan

Human | Novice | Witch

Little is known of the Hearthwood Witch. He appeared in the forest some years ago and lives in the wild.

He speaks to the trees and sings to the animals. Many horrible rumors circle him and his pet raven, Arthur. They say he kidnaps children, prays to a dark god, and knows everything about the forest there is to know.

The witch maintains a naïve persona, but some people claim to see something darker bubbling beneath the surface.

Cavorting with ravens is an ill omen. They are a sign of death when traveling alone. And wherever he goes, there’s always one.
